Exchanges X3

Exchange with Sister Gilbert

Happy Monday! We had another great week here in Callahan! We went on what felt like a million exchanges so I'm sorry if that's all I talk about haha!

Tuesday we had exchanges with the Kingsland sisters and I was able to spend the day with Sister Gilbert! We came out in the same group so it was fun to catch up a bit. We helped a member with some family history stuff then we were busy with lessons all night. We were able to teach a mom and her daughter that just got baptized last week so that was super fun! We met back up with the other sisters the next day and grabbed lunch in Callahan together.

Thursday we had another exchange with the MacClenny sisters! I went to MacClenney for the night with Sister Esquerra! We are both from NM so that was fun. We just connected over random New Mexico things and it was great. When people would ask us where we were from it would really throw them off when we both said NM since like no one is ever from there haha! We were able to go visit some ladies in their ward that are staying in a nursing home and we sang a few songs for them! We woke up early the next morning and drove down to Lake Butler for the Lake City zones interviews. We gave trainings in both of the districts and talked a lot about technology and the new planning steps. It was stressful but good haha!

After we finished interviews we ended our exchange with the Macclenny sisters and started another exchange with the Cannon Creek sisters and I went back to Callahan with Sister Meyers. Fun fact about Sister Meyers is that she's from Provo and grew up in the same ward as my cousins. It was a neat home connection. It was about an hour drive back and we had to head straight to dinner with a member. We went out and worked after that and tried some people in an apartment complex in Hilliard. Sister Meyers had the goal to talk with everyone so we talked with people outside in the parking lot and knocked a few doors. We met a ton of kooks but we also had an awesome miracle! We met a man named John that used to meet with the Elders in a different area but he just recently moved to Hilliard and really wants to come to church and start meeting with missionaries again! It was awesome!

Exchange with Sister Meyers

Saturday morning we headed out to meet up with the other sisters so we could switch back. On the way down we got caught in some crazy traffic from a stopped train and it ended up taking wayyy longer to meet the sisters than we planned. This created a small dilema because we were planning on being back in Callahan by 2 so we could FaceTime in for a baptism. We weren't going to make it in time so we found a parking lot and used the hotspot on our phone to watch the baptism! I was able to FaceTime in and see my investigator Troy from Gainesville at his baptism and it was so great! We were working with Troy the whole time I was in Gainesville and it was so cool to see how much his faith has grown in the last few months. He shared a really simple powerful testimony at the end that he knows this was the right choice. I'm sad I couldn't be there in person but so thankful for technology. It was the highlight of my week!!

Troy's Baptism

We were also able to find a lot of new investigators this week which was super exciting! We have really been working on building a solid teaching pool and it's been kind of a slow process but we are getting there. The Lord is blessing us in Callahan!!! I love being a missionary! Thanks for all the love, support, and still reading my emails this late in the game.

I love y'all! Have a blessed week <33

-Weekly Moss Moment-
This week for district meeting we decided to have a breakfast themed potluck. We were in charge of bringing the pancake mix and syrup. We had planned to just make all the food at the church since It was quick and easy. We realized after getting there that there wasn't a single pan in the kitchen. We ended up cooking eggs and hasbrowns in a big pot but we had no idea how we were going to cook the pancakes! One of the sisters came up with the idea to cook them in muffin tins in the oven so we tried that and they actually turned out pretty good! We will remember to bring better supplies for next week's potluck haha!
