"Proclaim my gospel as with the voice of a TRUMP"

Is it too soon to make trump jokes? .... I’m sorry haha

Hello everyone!!! Another crazy busy week here in St Augustine!

This week we had the opportunity to have a general authority (a leader in our church) come and give us some training in a zone conference. We had to drive about 45 min to meet with our zone and 2 other zones from other parts of the mission! There ended up being about 100 other missionaries there and it was super cool to be around that many missionaries!! During the conference we talked a lot about our work and what we can do better!

MTC REUNION!!! I got to see Sister Hardy and Sister Ulrich at zone conference this last week! It was so fun to see my friends and talk about our areas/how life has been since we got to the mission.

During the conference we also talked about the church's Christmas initiative for this year and we got to watch the video the church will be releasing on thanksgiving for the Holiday Season. It was so cool to sit and watch the video and just feel the spirit fill the room...I’M SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS AHH!! But the videos main theme (spoiler alert) was that Christ is the light of the world and that we can be that light too as we strive to follow him and serve those around us. It was super awesome! I just love Jesus and I am so thankful for him and I love this time of year because it's all about him and focusing on him! It's the light that makes all the difference!

All of our investigators are doing so amazing! We have two baptisms scheduled for the end of November and two set for early December! We have seen so many miracles these last few weeks and I know the Lord is so aware of these people and is preparing them to hear our message!

One awesome experience we had...we were teaching one of our new investigators named Jerome. He really wants to be baptized, so in the second lesson we decided to cover the word of wisdom. We told him that God wants us to respect our bodies and take care of them, and that he would have to give up smoking if he wanted to be baptized. He sat and thought for a moment, pulled his cigarettes out of his pocket and handed them to me right then and there.... SO MUCH FAITH! We saw him about 4 days later and he said that he hasn't bought any more!! It was such a miracle! He said there're times where it's been hard but he wants so badly to follow what the Lord wants him to do and I love seeing his faith grow. God is SO good.

Update on Jackie...as of two days ago she is up to 2 Nephi 14, which is almost 100 pages into the Book of Mormon...WHICH IS CRAZY!! She has two little kids and she's crazy busy and she still makes reading a priority! She is the sweetest thing ever and I love her so much! She's golden.

I found these sunglasses in our car one night and decided I was going to wear them out tracting even though it was getting dark. I thought it was pretty funny but Sister f was obviously not amused hahaha.

We also met the mayor of kooksville this week. There're a lot of lovable kooks in Florida (we blame it on the moss). We were sitting outside visiting with a less active member when this lady walked up and started talking to us. She was sweet but was saying the craziest things some of which included that she has a bachelors in political science, sociology, psychiatry and a masters in political science so she's very smart. She told us she is a vegetarian because it says in the bible not to eat anything with eyes. She told us to look it up but I have not been able to do my fact checking yet. She said she eats fish if it doesn't have eyes. She told us several times she has the body of a goddess. She has some boyfriend she kept talking about but she never said his name she just kept referring to him as "the Russian". She had just bought a tent and was going to go live with her friends behind Publix. She was just sitting with us and we were trying to visit with the member and she would randomly interrupt us to say "I'm very smart." or "I used to be a teacher. They loved me." Random stuff like that.  She told us she has very special blood and that doctors think she's an alien and that it's also the blood Jesus had. She told us to Google it. She then asked us for money and when we said we didn't have any she kissed our heads and walked off. The member was awesome and offered her a Book of Mormon before she left. hahaha it was interesting!

Monday's are the best because we go get bagels at Panera so we can use the wifi to email. chowing down on my bagel now.

This week will be 3 months in St. Augustine and it’s overwhelming to think of all the miracles I have seen and I have loved growing as a missionary here. The people are so kind and I have seen so much faith from everyone in the short amount of time I’ve been here. This all reminded me of one of my favorite scriptures in Alma 26:12 which says;

“Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.”

I am so weak. I see those weaknesses everyday. I'm thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ and the opportunity that I have to go to him and pray for that strength to be better and to work harder. We have miracles every single day but I know it has nothing to do with us. I love sharing this message of hope, peace, and JOY with the people of Florida!! Being a missionary is the greatest thing ever.

I love y'all so much! I hope you have a blessed week :)

xoxo
