DUMPSTER DIVERS

Hello everyone!!
I know I say this in every email...but seriously how is it Monday again?? I blink and a whole week passes haha

We had an AMAZING week here in St. Augustine!! We are teaching so many people right now and it makes for crazy days but it's still super fun!

If y'all remember Robert from last week...we had some crazy miracles with him this week!! We taught him twice and both times he told us that he had felt the things we taught were true, but that he wanted to come to church before making any commitments...well he came to church yesterday! And he loved it!!! After the meeting we were talking to him and he said; "now I am certain this is right. I have no questions" WOW! He has so much faith it's crazy!! He had to make a lot of sacrifices to be able to come yesterday but he just did what he had to and was so happy and excited to be there

The next miracle happened with James. He is very shy and reserved, and it took him about a month to open up to us. He had told us before that he knew he needed to be baptized but he wanted to take things slow so he felt completely ready. We missionaries love to give people the little (or big) push they need so in our lesson with him this week we asked if we could set a date for his baptism. He was a little hesitant but we promised he would be ready by November 26. We asked if he would say the closing prayer for the lesson, and if we would ask in his prayer if it was the date he should be baptized. We've never been able to get him to pray before, he always says he's too shy, but we kept encouraging him and after like 30 min of going back and forth.... He did it!! After the prayer he said he felt so at peace and ready to take this next step in life. We got in the car after the lesson and just started like screaming and jumping up and down hahaha he is SO AMAZING! And we have seen him grow so much in the short time we have been teaching him! When we first met him he told us there was no way he would ever be able to come to church and just didn't seem interested and now he is so eager to do what the Lord wants him to do. I seriously look up to my investigators so much. They all have so much faith it's amazing!!

One more quick story about an investigator named Jackie. We gave her a Book of Mormon and we came back this week to have a real sit down lesson. As we were sitting down before we started the lesson we asked her how her reading was going. She just picked up her book and said, "I think I got up to 1 Nephi 10”..... YALL THAT’S SO AMAZING!! She read 10 chapters in like 4 days, which is like unheard of for missionaries!! She said she feels it's scripture just like the Bible and she will be coming to church next week. Again...SO MUCH FAITH!! Missionaries can only do so much...the only way to really know if our message is true is to read the book and she is and it's working. The Holy Ghost is the most important part of missionary work. It's so amazing!!

We are teaching so many more amazing people but I don't want to make this email like 10pages long so I'll just update y'all on them more next week :)

We were at Panera using the wifi and doing some quick stuff on our iPads before heading home for the night. We had been running around all day and forgot to take time to eat dinner. As we were sitting there this guy came up and asked if we had eaten and offered to buy us food. He was super sweet and from SLC but was in town for business. Sister f got a bagel and I got kids mac n cheese. He also got us a gift card, which was awesome. I wanted to cry. Heavenly Father takes care of us

So, one funny thing that happened this week. We decided one night that we didn't like the way our apartment was set up, elders used to live here so it still looked like a boys apartment lol so we completely rearranged it. We had a random couch in the kitchen we put back in the living room, moved bookshelves, and hung up pictures. We just wanted to make it homier. After we finished we were sitting in our new and improved living room and felt like it was missing something. We decided our goal was to find a table we could put in there next to the couch. We have like no money as missionaries so as we were driving around for the next few days we would look on the side of the road and stuff to see if we could find anything. No luck. So one night we were driving back from the church pretty late and we went to drop off some garbage at the dumpster at our apartment complex before heading home for the night.... and there sitting right next to the dumpster was a super cute table. Sister f ventured off to get it and balanced it between our car and bike rack and we drove it home. After cleaning it extensively with bleach we put it in the living room and it was perfect. We thought it was hilarious and totally worth it... hopefully we don't die from some disease on the table or something...I'll keep y'all posted lol

Well I think those are all the highlights. I love tough things and I LOVE being a missionary

I love y'all so much!!
Have a blessed week <33

xoxo

-Weekly moss moment

Sunday morning I woke up and looked at the clock on my desk and saw that it said 6:45am. We normally get up every morning at 6:30 and so I was like scrambling thinking I slept in! I was also super confused as to why my alarm didn't go off and didn't know why sister f was still asleep. I figured she must have been sick or was feeling extra disobedient (haha just kidding) so I just took my stuff to the bathroom and went to get ready for church. She came in about an hour later and reminded me that it was daylight savings. I missed out on the extra hour of sleep which was a bummer...dang moss!! Maybe I'll remember next year haha
