Happy Easter

Hi y'all!! Hope everyone had a great week and a blessed Easter!

It was so amazing to go to church yesterday and to feel the spirit of Easter! I know that Jesus Christ lived, died, and lived again for all of us! We were able to spend most of our day visiting different members and eating LOTS of food. Arlington ward is the best and it was a great day!!

This week we had a really great lesson with our investigator Vicky. She has changed so much these last few weeks and has a strong desire to follow Jesus Christ. The Elders had a baptism on Saturday and Vicky came and she was so excited. You could really see she felt the spirit and after when we were talking with her more she said she knows for sure that she needs to be baptized. It's been so amazing and I get so excited every time we see her.

Our investigators Loraine and Elly are also doing great! Loraine is 7 so it's hard for her to pay attention sometimes during lessons. We wanted to make sure that she really understood and didn't have any questions so we had a big review lesson with her this week where we drew lots of pictures and even played some missionary appropriate charades. She got super in to it and it was really funny haha! Their whole family is amazing though and I'm so excited for them to get baptized :)

Being a missionary is amazing and I'm loving every minute of it! Read your scriptures and choose the right.
I love y'all! Have a blessed week <33

Weekly Moss Moment

So one day we were out working and we had a lesson fall through. We didn't have a ton of time and wanted to stay in that general area. We were looking at our maps trying to see who lived around there and we felt impressed to go try this Bible referral we hadn't been able to contact. We knocked on the door and a lady answered and came outside to talk to us. She said the lady we were looking for wasn't there right now but that she had a few minutes to talk. We visited with her in her driveway for a few minutes and we were able to show her the Easter video! She really enjoyed it and told us how she loved the missionaries. She said they used to come over all the time and do service for her and teach lessons. We were like wow she's golden so we asked for her name and offered to come do service! She said she would be cleaning out her sewing room the next morning if we wanted to come help. She'd told us her name was Dede but later when we checked she wasn't in our area book. We figured she had us confused with a different faith but we decided to go over anyways. When we got there we heard her yelling at her kids for dropping their bacon from breakfast on the floor. She then came and answered the door singing a song about the bacon being on the floor and dancing. She continued to dance and sing as she let us in. The bacon on the floor song was super catchy and sister g and I sing it all the time now haha! The rest of the service was pretty kooky. We didn't help much in the sewing room. We kept offering and asking what we could do but we weren't given any projects. We killed a few roaches and moved some books off of a bookshelf and that was about it. Dede was sweet but mossy for sure

Prince of Peace

10/10 would recommend this book

Wow I always love the first week of a new transfer. We've been working super hard these last few weeks and we are finally seeing some amazing miracles. We were able to find 6 new investigators as we were out finding this week and we were so excited. People were just being placed in our path everyday and it was crazy how it all worked out.

We had a miracle with our investigators Vicky. She found the church through her granddaughter’s boyfriend who is a member and we have been teaching her for about 3 months. She really wants to be baptized but was really hesitant about coming to church. A few weeks ago she called us saying she wants to be baptized but she doesn't want to have any strings attached. We were heartbroken and prayed extra hard to know what to do to help her. This week we had an amazing lesson with her and we had a member with us that testified so powerfully of how the church has changed her life. We realized that she knew she needed to be baptized; we just had to help her gain a testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We went back and re-taught some of those principles and we were able to share the First Vision with her again. This time the spirit was so strong and there was a change that happened. At the end of the lesson she told us she was thinking about coming to church and then she came! We saw her come through the doors yesterday and we went and gave her the biggest hugs ever. She always calls us her babies or her little girls and it's so cute haha! She loved church and said she would be back next week. It was SUCH a miracle!!

We are teaching another lady named Vicky (super confusing. I talked about her in my email a few weeks ago though) and she came to church again as well! She is so amazing and knows so much about the church and the Book of Mormon she seems more like a Less Active member than an investigator. We are working a lot with her as well and are hoping she will be getting baptized soon.

We had another crazy miracle happen with the Vihugho family. We have been teaching them for a really long time and 3 of the kids in the family are already baptized. We have been working really hard with the parents and one of the younger daughters trying to prepare them to get baptized. We haven’t been able to see them for about a month because they moved and their phones weren't working so we weren't able to get their new address. We had heard from a member they were living in a certain apartment complex so one day we went to the complex determined to find them. We parked our car and walked across the parking lot trying to decide where to start (this complex is HUGE) we felt inspired to head one way and ended up walking right up to their door. They saw us through the window and let us right in. It took us maybe 5 minutes to find their apartment. It was a crazy miracle haha! We were finally able to teach them again and the mom and daughter are both set to be baptized May 6th!! The whole family was in church yesterday and we were so so excited. Too many miracles I can't even handle it!

It has been so amazing so to get to share the Prince of Peace video with people this week. If anyone hasn't seen it in highly recommend it. You can watch it on lds.org or mormon.org! I have found so much peace in my life as I have turned my life over to the Savior. I know that he cares about me and knows me individually. I know that he lived, died, and lived again so that we can all live again and be reunited with our loved ones. I love that I get to share this with people every day. God be thanked for the matchless gift of His divine Son!!

I love y'all!! Have a blessed week <33

Arlington Pt. 3

My trainer taught me to always celebrate the end of a transfer with some ice cream and I decided to pass on the tradition. We had to take this picture on timer on my camera and everyone was judging us so this is the best we got lol

Hello Everyone!
We had our transfer call this week and I found out that I would be staying in Arlington with Sister Goeller!!! We were really excited about that! The work is really moving along here in Arlington so I am excited that I get to stay for a few more weeks :)

We decided to make some brownies for the Elders on Saturday(hehehe get it?)

This week we did a LOT of finding. We knocked a ton of doors and tried a lot of former investigators and we were able to meet a lot of amazing people. We finally contacted this lady named April that we haven't been able to see since the beginning of the transfer and we were able to have a really awesome chat with her. She invited us back to teach her whole family and we were super pumped. She seems really prepared to receive the gospel so we are excited to continue meeting with her.

It was blazing hot this week. We were melting

We also had an amazing lesson with our investigator Karen. We talked about the Plan of Salvation with her and she just ate it all up. She LOVED it! She told us "I think I can see baptism at the end of the rainbow.... or maybe the beginning of the rainbow!" We thought that was pretty funny and hopefully she will be able to come to church this upcoming week so she can continue to progress. As we were leaving the appointment Sister G looked at her and said "Karen you are so amazing!" and she said "Oh honey I know." Hahaha it was awesome

This actually happened. I wanted to cry for 2 seconds...WINTER COME BACK :\

This weekend was General Conference and all I can say is WOW! It was all so good!! We got to watch all 4 sessions and I was writing notes as fast as I could trying to keep up with all the awesome thoughts and impressions. Seriously every talk was so great. My favorite was the talk given by Weatherford T. Clayton. He talked about the Plan of Salvation and he said "There is so much more to this life than what happens between birth and death" Maybe its the fact that Easter is coming up but I have been especially grateful this past week for my Savior and the sacrifice he made for me and for all of us! We have a merciful Heavenly Father that established a plan for His children that makes it possible to be with our families again. It reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures in Alma 22:14 "And since man had fallen he could no merit anything of himself; but the sufferings and death of Christ atone for their sins, through faith and repentance, and so forth; and that he breaketh the bands of death, that the grave shall have no victory, and that the sting of death should be swallowed up in the hopes of glory"

We had zone conference this week and we won 50 extra miles for having the cleanest car in the zone! Wahoo! Our car was actually super dirty so we aren't sure how we won but I am not complaining

I'm looking forward to this upcoming transfer and all the miracles that we will see! Being a missionary is the greatest thing ever! Thank you all so much for the continued love and support. It really makes a huge difference! Time is flying!!

I love y'all! Have a blessed week <33
